The Grand pulled back the curtain, announcing its 2023-24 Broadway season at The Playhouse on Rodney Square in Wilmington on Monday.
This includes big shows like “Pretty Woman: The Musical” and “Little Women.”
The new season is also the 110th anniversary since the curtain first lifted at The Playhouse, a venue that is the country’s longest continuously operating Broadway touring house, according to a statement from The Grand.

Here’s what you need to know about this year’s shows at The Playhouse:
‘Pretty Woman: The Musical’

Oct. 13 to 15: “Pretty Woman: The Musical” hits the stage. The production, based on one of Hollywood’s favorite love stories, is shaped by two-time Tony Award-winning director and choreographer Jerry Mitchell, an original score by Grammy winner Bryan Adams and Jim Vallance, and a book by the movie’s legendary director Garry Marshall and screenwriter J. F. Lawton.

‘On Your Feet!’

March 7 to 10: A strong groove will compel the audience to move “On Your Feet!” The show tells the story of the rise to fame of Cuban-American musicians Gloria and Emilio Estefan.
Critics have fallen in love with this new original production, featuring some of the most iconic songs of the past quarter-century. This includes “Get On Your Feet,” “Rhythm is Gonna Get You,” “Conga,” “Don’t Want To Lose You Now,” “Coming Out of the Dark” and “1-2-3.”

‘Come From Away’
April 19-21: The hit musical “Come From Away” will share the inspirational, true story about a tiny town that welcomed the world after 9/11.
This musical follows the true story of a town in Newfoundland that opened their homes to 7,000 stranded travelers on 9/11, according to press materials.
During that week, cultures clashed and stress was high — but uneasiness turned into trust, music soared into the night, and gratitude grew into friendships.

‘Little Women’
May 9-12: The season ends with “Little Women,” following the adventures of sisters Jo, Meg, Beth and Amy March, each determined to live life on their own terms. The women are accompanied by a mighty soundtrack of personal discovery, heartbreak, hope, and everlasting love — the sounds of a young America finding its voice, per press materials.

‘Alan Cumming Is Not Acting His Age’
Oct. 28: Broadway star Alan Cumming brings his new cabaret show, “Alan Cumming Is Not Acting His Age,” an evening of song and story celebrating his eclectic spirit in a mischievous exploration about a topic many can relate to: growing older.

‘Million Dollar Quartet’
Nov. 17-19: The “Million Dollar Quartet” hits the stage in a production that features Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis and Carl Perkins for a musical celebration. The show offers nostalgic holiday hits like “Run Rudolph Run,” “Jingle Bell Rock,” “I’ll Be Home For Christmas” and more.
‘Annie’
Jan. 5-7: Little orphan “Annie” will once again remind theater fans that holding onto hope requires a lot of grit and determination.
“Annie” is directed by Jenn Thompson and features the iconic book and score, written by Tony winners Thomas Meehan, Charles Strouse and Martin Charnin.
‘An Evening With Sutton Foster’
March 2: Two-time Tony winner Sutton Foster perform favorite works from Broadway in a unique show. Foster is a singer and dancer who was recently seen on Broadway, starring as Marian Paroo in the Broadway revival of “The Music Man,” opposite Hugh Jackman.
‘An Intimate Evening with David Foster & Katharine McPhee’
May 19: Folks will spend time with Grammy legend David Foster, winner of 16 Gramaphone trophies, along with the talented Katharine McPhee.
The dynamic duo delivers a show full of Foster’s hits from Whitney Houston to Michael Bublé, and McPhee’s biggest tunes from “American Idol” to “Waitress,” and more.
Foster is a musician, composer and producer, while McPhee is an acclaimed singer, television and Broadway star.
The Grand’s new executive director
This fall marks the one-year anniversary of Pam Manocchio, The Grand’s new executive director. Manocchio took over the post in September, carrying the torch from Mark Fields, who left The Grand after 16 years.
Manocchio is all smiles about The Grand’s new Broadway season.
“As The Playhouse celebrates its remarkable 110th anniversary, this lineup promises to captivate theatergoers with unforgettable stories and breathtaking performances,” she said in a statement.
“We truly cannot wait to welcome new and returning audiences to this exciting season of Broadway excellence!”
Season subscriptions
Current subscribers will be directly contacted about renewing seats to Broadway in Wilmington.
Tickets for the “Season Specials” can be added onto a subscription package at a discounted rate. Additional subscriber benefits include priority seating ahead of the public, free parking, seating flexibility, and more, according to The Grand.
Season subscriptions begin at $125 and are available by calling (302) 888-0200, or visiting the box office at The Playhouse at 1007 N. Market St., Wilmington from Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
