Heavy, wet snow and strong winds are knocking out power lines and resulting in multiple outages throughout lower Delaware, Maryland and Virginia, according to the National Weather Service.
Snow is expected to continue throughout the afternoon, and the weather service has issued a winter storm warning until 4 p.m. for central and southern Delaware and northeast Maryland.

Power outages are affecting states across the region. PowerOutage.us, an online tool that reports and tracks power outages across the country, has reported more than 67,600 outages in Maryland, about 395,840 in Virginia and more than 2,000 in Delaware as of 12:30 p.m.

Looking at local sources, the outages are likely higher in Delaware than that initial total.
Delmarva Power has reported nearly 2,909 outages as of 12:30 p.m. The highest impact seems to be in the Georgetown area, where there are 1,305 customers affected and 8 outages. More than 400 customers were affected just north Bethany beach, according to Delmarva Power’s outage map.
Some municipalities are also reporting outages, including in Milford and Lewes. Coastal regions are also experiencing flooding, which may continue to affect road conditions and outages.
