Police: Suspects rob K&L BBQ, assault employees in Hopewell

HOPEWELL, Va. (WRIC) — Four masked armed suspects allegedly held employees of K&L BBQ at gunpoint Friday morning while stealing money, launching an investigation by police.

At 7:32 a.m. on Friday, March 1, officers with the Hopewell Police Department responded to K&L BBQ, located at 1410 Cavalier Square, for a commercial robbery that had just occurred.

Police said the preliminary investigation revealed that four armed masked suspects went into the restaurant, assaulted several employees, resulting in injuries, and held them at gunpoint as they stole money from the business.

All four suspects fled the business on foot in an unknown direction.

The investigation into this incident is ongoing, according to police.
