RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — Virginia State Police is still investigating what they called a “three-vehicle, chain-reaction crash” in the northbound lanes of Interstate 95 at Exit 76A for Richmond’s Chamberlayne Avenue on Sunday.

Immediately following the incident, the Virginia Department of Transportation announced all northbound lanes on I-95 near the Interstate 64 East/7th Street Exit, or mile marker 75, in Richmond would be closed.
At 6:18 p.m., VDOT announced that northbound lanes on I-95 at mile marker 75.5 — the scene of the crash — were back open. The crash remains under investigation, according to State Police.
