Wilmington Police are investigating an apparent shooting across the street from Bethel Pentecostal Church at Pine and East 23rd streets.
A portion of the street was blocked by police cars and yellow tape Saturday night, while a forensic team collected evidence at a parked car on the scene. The vehicle’s windshield has several bullet holes.
Officers at the scene did not provide any immediate details but said the shooting occurred after 4 p.m. Saturday. The police department had not released additional information as of 8:30 p.m. Saturday.
A person at the scene of the shooting who did not want to be publicly identified said three people were injured in the gunfire.
