A 57-year-old man was killed Friday night in a Pike Creek-area crash, according to Delaware State Police.
Troopers said the man was leaving Polly Drummond Shopping Center in a 2015 Toyota Rav-4 at 6:46 p.m. Friday, attempting to turn southbound through the intersection of Chadd Road, when he drove directly into the path of a 26-year-old man’s 2014 Cadillac SRX.
The front of the Cadillac, which was traveling east on New Linden Hill Road, struck the passenger side of the Toyota, according to a news release.
The 57-year-old man died at the scene, according to police. He has not been publicly identified pending the notification of next of kin.
The 26-year-old man was hospitalized for his injuries, according to police.

The crash closed down New Linden Hill Road at Chadd Road for about four hours.
