Philadelphia Eagles will face Tampa Bay Buccaneers


So the Eagles waited through a final day of NFL games to find out who, where and when they’ll play.

Finally, after all the permutations played themselves out, the Eagles will play in the wildcard round against the defending Super Bowl champion Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The game will be in Tampa next Sunday at 1 p.m.

The Eagles (9-8) had to wait until the San Francisco 49ers came back to beat the Los Angeles Rams 27-24 in overtime Sunday evening before knowing their seeding.

That’s because both Tampa Bay (13-4) and New Orleans won, ensuring a matchup with the Buccaneers. The Rams-49ers outcome determined whether the Eagles-Bucs matchup would be as the No. 6 seed vs. No. 3, or No. 7 vs. No. 2.
