Petersburg Sheriff Office’s 2nd annual Father-Daughter Dance to celebrate father figures and daughters

PETERSBURG, Va. (WRIC) — The Petersburg Sheriff’s Office will host its second annual Father-Daughter Dance this weekend, inviting daughters to “bring dad or someone who’s like a dad” and dance the night away.

According to the Petersburg Sheriff’s Office, this special event will celebrate over 70 young ladies and their father figures from across the tri-city area — welcoming guests from Petersburg, Hopewell, Dinwiddie and Prince George County.

The dance will take place on Saturday, Feb. 24, from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Petersburg Public Library, located at 201 W. Washington St. in Petersburg.

Donations for participants are $25 for adults and $25 per daughter and are accepted in cash only. To submit these donations, come by the Petersburg Sheriff’s Office, located at 8 Courthouse Ave in Petersburg.

Participants will be accepted until the maximum capacity for the dance is reached.
