GOOCHLAND COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — One person is in the hospital and another is in custody after a shooting at an apartment complex in eastern Goochland County.
According to the Goochland County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to the 2000 West Creek Apartments, located on the 2000 block of Broad Branch Circle, at around 5:20 p.m. for a report of a shooting.
When they arrived, deputies found the victim in the parking lot of the apartment complex. The victim, who police have not yet identified, was taken to a local hospital for treatment. Their condition is not known at this time.
A suspect was found at the scene by the responding deputies and taken into custody.
Around 1 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 24, police identified the suspect as 36-year-old Brian Shively, of Midlothian. Shively is being charged with attempted murder, malicious wounding and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.
Police say more charges may be filed as the investigation continues. Shively is currently being held without bond at Henrico County Jail.
