ALBEMARLE COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — A person is in the hospital after police say they were hit by a car while riding an electric scooter on the University of Virginia’s campus in Albemarle County.
According to the University of Virginia Police Department, officers and rescue personnel responded to Whitehead Road near Chemistry Drive at around 4:52 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 13 for a report of a crash.
It was determined that a person was riding an electric scooter on Whitehead Road when they were hit by a driver. The person on the scooter was taken to the university hospital’s emergency room, the extent of their injuries is not known at this time.
Police did not identify either person involved in the crash, and did not share whether either have been charged with anything.
