A 52-year-old pedestrian from Seaford has died after being hit by a car in Seaford on Thursday night, according to Delaware State Police. The man’s identity has not yet been released.
The man was walking in the left eastbound lane of Norman Eskridge Highway, police said, just past the intersection with North Front Street without a light or reflective clothes. At 8:18 p.m., police said a 2013 gray Dodge Caravan driven by a 62-year-old man from Laurel drove past the intersection in the same lane, hitting the pedestrian.

The man was taken to the hospital, where he later died, according to state police. The driver and his passenger, a 39-year-old man from Laurel, were not injured. Police said the road was closed for about three hours.
