With the Super Bowl kicking off in just a few days, avoid food frustration by placing your takeout orders early.
Whether you need your wings and pizza to celebrate a triumphant victory or to soak up your tears, don’t wait until the last minute to get the goods.
No, seriously. Restaurants around the state are advising customers to place their orders as soon as possible to avoid long wait times or low stock.
“We already started taking orders because we put a special package together,” said a manager at La Pizzeria Metro in Wilmington. “We will not be taking any orders after 2 p.m. on Sunday.”
Their Super Bowl package is available for pre-order and includes fun foods such as pepperoni poppers, Trolley Square wings, Italian hoagie sandwiches and pasta salad.
The package offering eases the expected delivery rush on Sunday and allows them to more easily manage the number of orders for the day, the manager said.

“We normally always suggest for them to have the orders before 3:00,” the restaurant manager said. “Basically from 2 to 6 p.m. is the busiest time in the pizza business.”
They also suggested placing orders through delivery apps like Grubhub and UberEats because the phones will be very hectic on Sunday.
