Oceans Calling Festival planned for 2023 in Ocean City

Oceans Calling Festival will return to Ocean City next year after having had to cancel its planned inaugural event a month ago due to impending bad weather.

The mayor and Town Council on Monday approved City Tourism and Business Development Director Tom Perlozzo’s request to reserve the weekend of Sept. 29 to Oct. 1, 2023, for the C3-produced festival.

“At this point, what they’ve asked for is that we set those dates for them so that they can begin to get acts together, and begin their advertisement while … all the excitement from the last concert is still fresh in everyone’s mind,” said City Manager Terry McGean.

Ocean’s Calling was scheduled for the same weekend this year, but Hurricane Ian’s remnants forced a cancellation, much to the dismay of excited festivalgoers, C3 and the city. Dave Matthews, Alanis Morrissette, The Lumineers and other major acts were set to perform and over 40,000 people bought tickets.
