Northern Ireland: Petrol bombs thrown at police vehicle in Londonderry on eve of US president’s visit


On Monday (April 10), a number of masked protesters in Ireland attacked police with petrol bombs and other objects at a parade opposing the Good Friday peace accord in Londonderry, according to the police. The incident came just a day before United States President Joe Biden visits Belfast, Northern Ireland. Monday marked the 25th anniversary of the Good Friday Agreement that largely ended 30 years of sectarian bloodshed in Northern Ireland.
