New Castle Farmers Market stabbing leaves Newark man injured Sunday


A 32-year-old Newark man was stabbed in the back multiple times at the New Castle Farmers Market Sunday afternoon, according to the New Castle City Police Department. 

Shortly after 12 p.m., officers responded to the farmers market near New Castle following reports of a fight where they found the man laying on the floor of a restaurant inside the market. The man was taken to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening wounds, police said. 

Several farmers market businesses temporarily closed as access was briefly restricted to a small portion of the market, police said. The investigation is ongoing and no further details were immediately available.
