A 21-year-old woman is in “serious condition” after being thrown from her car in a crash near New Castle on Monday, New Castle County Paramedics reported.
According to paramedics, the woman crashed into an empty car on the 100 block of Wilton Blvd. at 5:15 p.m. The collision threw the driver out from behind the wheel, and paramedics said she “sustained injuries to her extremities.”
She was taken to Christiana Hospital in Stanton in “serious condition.”

A passenger in the car with her was taken from the scene in an ambulance but was reported in stable condition.
New Castle County Paramedics said the unoccupied car caught on fire, and Christiana and Wilmington Manor Fire Companies were called to extinguish it.
Delaware State Police are investigating the cause of the crash.
