A 23-year old man was charged with attempted murder after a 29-year-old man was shot in a Walmart parking lot near New Castle on Monday morning, according to Delaware State Police.
Police were called to the Walmart, just off U.S. 40 at 11:46 a.m. after reports of shots fired in the parking lot. Police said they found a 29-year-old man from Bear in his car with multiple gunshot wounds.

Police said the shooter went up to the Bear man’s car and asked for money. When the 29-year-old said he didn’t have any, the shooter pulled out a handgun and began firing, police said.
The victim was hit in the head and neck, police said. His condition was not released.

After Delaware State Police identified 23-year-old New Castle resident Ezekiel Tamba as the suspect, he turned himself in at Troop 2 on Monday night. Police said they arrested him after a “brief struggle” and charged him with attempted murder. He was sent to Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on a $330,000 cash bond.
