The Delaware beaches’ culinary prowess will be represented nationwide in November, with two Rehoboth Beach-area chefs set to appear on television shows.
SoDel Concepts’ Corporate Pastry Chef Dru Tevis will appear on The Food Network’s “Holiday Baking Championship” starting Monday, Nov. 7, at 8 p.m., while grandpa (MAC) cofounder Hari Cameron will appear on Netflix’s “Snack vs. Chef” starting Wednesday, Nov. 30.
Tevis was valedictorian of his graduating class at the International Culinary Center, formerly known as the French Culinary Institute of New York, and has been in charge of SoDel’s 16-restaurant dessert program since 2018.
“It was the most challenging yet thrilling experience in my life, but I wouldn’t trade it for anything,” Tevis said of “Holiday Baking Championship.” “I competed with some of the most talented bakers and pastry chefs in the country, and we developed genuine friendships — we learned from each other.”

Cameron isn’t allowed to discuss “Snack VS. Chef,” he said when reached by phone, and Netflix didn’t immediately respond to inquiries. However, according to the Netflix website, the show features 12 chefs competing for a $50,000 prize and is hosted by comedians Megan Stalter and Hari Kondabolu.
“Not only must they recreate some of the world’s most iconic snacks, they’ll also be challenged to invent their own original snacks inspired by beloved classics,” the show synopsis says.
In an Instagram post, Cameron said “competing and filming was one of the most fun and challenging things that I have ever done.”
