A 25-year-old Newark man died early Sunday morning after crashing his motorcycle into a Jeep near Middletown, Delaware State Police said.
Troopers responded to Bunker Hill Road near its intersection with Choptank Road just before 2:45 a.m. for reports of the wreck. There, they found the motorcyclist dead.
Through their investigation, troopers determined the 46-year-old driver of the Jeep was traveling west on Bunker Hill Road when he flipped on his left turn signal to turn into his home. The 25-year-old driver of a Harley Davidson and another motorcyclist – police said that person is “unidentified” – were driving behind him.

As the Jeep turned left, the driver of the Harley Davidson crossed the double yellow line and hit the Jeep’s rear driver side door, police said. The impact caused the motorcycle to rotate into a nearby driveway and the driver was ejected.
Police said the other motorcycle didn’t hit either vehicle and left the scene.
The driver of the Jeep was wearing a seatbelt and suffered non life-threatening injures.
Police will identify the 25-year-old once his family has been notified.
