Morning brief: Cleanup begins at Baltimore bridge collapse site, and more


A cleanup started on Thursday (Mar 28) at the site of Baltimore’s Francis Scott Key Bridge which collapsed. The bridge collapsed on Tuesday morning after being hit by a massive cargo ship, killing six people. The clean-up was initiated after efforts to find dead bodies of people who went missing were stopped. 

The Syrian Army said early Friday that Israel some insurgent groups launched airstrikes near the northern city of Aleppo, killing and wounding several people and damaging military structure. The exact number of casualties was not yet known.

In other news from around the world, the son of jailed Indian gangster-turned-politician Mukhtar Ansari has said that poison was added to his father’s food which led to his sudden death. Ansari reportedly fell unconscious in a district jail in Uttar Pradesh and was rushed to a hospital where he died of cardiac arrest.
