A 18-year-old Rehoboth Beach woman was killed and two others were injured following a car crash near Milton Saturday night.
The crash occurred at about 8 p.m. when a 19-year-old woman was driving westbound on Shingle Point Road, approaching the intersection of Gravel Hill Road, according to Delaware State Police.
Prior to reaching the intersection, the westbound and eastbound lanes of Shingle Point Road split, resulting in the westbound lane having a sharp right curve.

The driver, who had the Rehoboth Beach woman in the passenger’s seat, failed to negotiate the curve and continued driving in the eastbound lane toward the Gravel Hill Road intersection. Then, as the car entered the northbound lane of Gravel Hill Road, an oncoming pickup truck hit its front left side, police said.
Following the crash, the car stopped upright as the pickup truck drove off the west edge of the roadway and overturned onto its left side before hitting a fence post and tree, police said.
The passenger of the car, 18, sustained life-threatening injuries from the crash and was later pronounced dead at the scene, police said. Identification is awaiting notification of next of kin.
