Middletown residents and businesses were without power Monday evening after a morning car crash damaged electric lines and forced Delmarva Power to shut down power for repairs, according to the town officials.
The power outage started about 3 p.m. on Monday and is expected to last eight to 12 hours, according to the town. The entire town is affected.
“They need to make the emergency repairs today for the safety of residents and the electric supply,” a post by Middletown officials said.
Restaurants, stores and other businesses around town were forced to close during the outage.
