A man was taken to the hospital in critical condition Thursday morning after crashing into a gas station parking lot near Concord Mall, according to Delaware State Police. He was trapped in his car for over 20 minutes, New Castle County Paramedics said, and had to be pulled out by first responders.
The man — whom police and paramedics said was between 68 and 70 years old — was driving a Toyota Camry northbound on Concord Pike at 5:37 a.m., state police said. He “lost control” at the intersection of Naamans Road, according to police, and flipped over into the Exxon parking lot northwest of the intersection. Paramedics reported the man’s arms and legs were injured, and internal injuries were “suspected.”
