A 28-year-old man was indicted Aug. 14 and charged with the fatal 2019 shooting of 29-year-old Hakeem Smalls in Wilmington, police announced Wednesday.
The Wilmington Police Department said Dashawn Daley shot Smalls along the 2500 block of N. Monroe St. at 11:39 p.m. on Sept. 27, 2019. Smalls was taken to the hospital, where he later died.
Daley has been charged with first-degree murder, murder during the commission of a felony, four counts of possessing a firearm during the commission of a felony, first-degree robbery and first-degree reckless endangering.
Daley was already in Department of Correction custody when he was arraigned by a New Castle County grand jury and is now incarcerated at Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on $1.275 million bail.
