A Dover-area man, who has not been identified, was sitting in the driver seat of a vehicle parked on Senator Avenue when an unknown male entered the backseat of the car about 3:50 p.m., Delaware State Police Master Cpl. Heather Pepper said.
After a conversation between the two, Pepper said the unknown male demanded the man’s property.
“At some point during the encounter, the victim was shot in the upper torso,” Pepper said. “The unknown male suspect then fled the vehicle in an unknown direction of travel.”
Troopers dispatched to the area for a report of a shooting, found the victim. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
