Two teenagers are accused of breaking into a home in Farmington, setting fires and stealing a gun.Farmington Police were first called to a home on Town Farm Road on Aug. 1 for a reported burglary. When officers arrived, they found that a couple of fires had been started inside the home and that a gun was missing.Officers then discovered that a vacant property next door had also been broken into. The missing gun and some ammunition were found there.Because of the fire damage to the first house, the state Fire Marshal’s Office was brought in to help with the investigation. Investigators identified a 13-year-old and 14-year-old they say were responsible.Both teens were charged with arson, burglary, theft and criminal mischief, but neither were taken into custody. Because of their ages, their names were not being released.Investigators say there is about $2,000 worth of damage to the first house that was broken into.
