RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — A Laps to Honor event was held at Byrd Park on Saturday to celebrate Richmond’s Medal of Honor recipients.
On Saturday, March 30, Monumental Honor, an organization dedicated to honoring Richmond’s bravest citizens, held a Laps to Honor event at Byrd Park to celebrate local Medal of Honor winners.
According to a spokesperson for the event, a Medal of Honor is the most prestigious award for valor in combat.
Participants ran, jogged and walked mile laps around Swan Lake at Byrd Park, with every lap kicked-off with a story of one of Richmond’s hometown heroes.
