Lane closures coming to South Belvidere Street, Downtown Expressway


RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — Lane closures will take place near South Belvidere Street and the Downtown Expressway for storm water pipe installation, according to the City of Richmond Department of Public Works.

The eastbound entrance to Byrd Street, intersecting South Belvidere Street and Idlewood Avenue, will be closed from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. starting Monday, March 4 through Thursday, March 7.

According to the department, the 2nd Street offramp from the eastbound lanes of the Downtown Expressway to Byrd Street will also be closed from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. starting Monday, March 4 through Wednesday, March 6.

The closures will allow a contractor to install a storm water pipe to upgrade the pedestrian crossing. According to the department, vehicles will be detoured during the closure hours.
