Jury in Whitmer kidnap plot jury is ‘ready to read the verdicts’

The jury in the Gretchen Whitmer kidnap plot case has just stated that it is “ready to read the verdicts,” even though it remains deadlocked on several counts.

“After using the suggestions of the court, we’re still unable to reach a unanimous decision on several counts,” the jury stated in a note that was handed to the judge, some three hours after he instructed them to stay at it.

On Day Five of deliberations, the jury announced that it had reached some verdicts, but is hung up on some counts.

“We have come to a decision on several counts, however we are locked on others,” the jury wrote in a note to the judge.

The jury did not say which counts it had reached verdicts on.

Chief U.S. District Judge Robert Jonker called the jury back to the courtroom around 11 a.m. and asked them to return to the deliberation room and continue to work things out.
