Dukes will be eligible for Sun Belt Championship, National Championship for the first time
HARRISONBURG, Va. (WRIC) — James Madison University (JMU) Football fans are advised to act quickly to secure tickets for next season before they are gone.
Tickets for 2023-2024 JMU Football games will go on sale Tuesday, Jan. 23. This is the first season with new head coach Bob Chesney and the first season in which the team will be eligible to compete for the Sun Belt Conference Championship and FBS National Championship.
Despite not being eligible last year, the Dukes were allowed to compete in the Armed Forces Bowl against Air Force after not enough eligible teams qualified. In only their second loss of the season, the Dukes ended up falling 31-21 to Air Force.
According to a JMU spokesperson, the school expects a high demand for tickets this offseason after hitting the capacity of 8,718 tickets sold in July 2023 ahead of last season.
2023 season ticket holders will have the option to renew their tickets and parking in the same locations, with payment due by May 15.
Anyone who did not have 2023 season tickets will have to join a waitlist until season ticket renewals are completed. If any tickets remain available afterwards, waitlist requests will be filled according to Duke Club priority point ranking.
