Delaware’s high school football season begins Thursday, starting the second year of a sweeping realignment that has placed all 46 teams into new classes and districts designed for more equal competition and closer games.
Delaware Online/The News Journal is here to help fans keep track of everything, with stories, photos and videos on multiple platforms each week all the way through the championship games on Dec. 9-10.
Over the past couple of weeks, we have unveiled our position-by-position and overall Top 75 preseason player rankings, along with daily previews of each of the districts in Class 3A, 2A and 1A.
As the games begin, we will feature coverage of games each Thursday and Friday night, plus more on Saturdays, with reporters checking in live from around the state with scores, photos and video highlights on Twitter using the #delhs hashtag.
Also, the Delaware Online Facebook page will host live pregame and halftime broadcasts – including marching bands. The Delaware Online website will display a continuously updating live high school football scoreboard when games are played.
Then on Saturday nights, go to delawareonline.com for a big recap of all of the games from the weekend, plus dozens of photos from games in all three counties.

On Thursday or Friday (depending on which day games start each week), fearless forecasters Brad Myers, Kevin Tresolini and Matt Kalin will make predictions on the week’s games. And we will announce the winner of Athlete of the Week voting online each Friday.
