Gov. John Carney briefing on state’s response


Gov. John Carney will hold a virtual press briefing Tuesday afternoon about Delaware’s response to COVID-19.

COVID cases in Delaware have continued on their downward trajectory last week. The state reported 2,342 new cases for the week ending Sunday, a USA TODAY Network analysis of Johns Hopkins University data shows. That’s down 34.1% from the previous week’s tally of 3,554 new cases of the virus that causes COVID-19.

Over the last three weeks, new COVID cases have fallen by more than 81% in the state. However, the number of COVID deaths reported did rise to 67 last week, up from 45 the previous week.
