Gov. John Carney held a virtual press briefing Tuesday afternoon about Delaware’s response to COVID-19.

Delaware reported far fewer coronavirus cases in the week ending Sunday, adding 7,459 new cases. That’s down 40.7% from the previous week’s tally of 12,585 new cases of the virus that causes COVID-19.
Positive cases dropped significantly in all three Delaware counties last week, with New Castle and Kent counties both falling by more than 42%. Cases were down in Sussex County by 34%.
There were 51 COVID-19 deaths recorded last week, down from 56 the previous week.
