Gov. John Carney will hold a virtual press briefing Thursday afternoon about Delaware’s response to COVID-19.

Carney’s briefing comes as COVID cases continue to surge in the state, pushing some Delaware hospitals past 100% bed capacity. Hospitalizations have jumped by nearly 75% since Dec. 1.
The state broke its record twice for daily COVID-19 cases reported last week. There were 1,591 cases reported on Christmas Eve, the highest ever, which surpassed the Dec. 23 record of 1,379.
