Funeral service for John Pridemore, Clayton fire chief, town manager

The funeral service for Clayton town manager and volunteer fire chief John Pridemore will be Tuesday, March 15 at the Clayton Firehouse, 300 East St., Clayton.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to noon, followed by the funeral at noon.

Clayton Fire Company public information officer Kevin Wilson said the service will be a “full firefighter’s funeral.” Since it is a cremation service, there won’t be a procession to a cemetery.

Pridemore died after falling about 25 feet from a scissor lift while cleaning at the firehouse March 7. The scissor lift was knocked over when someone pushed the button to raise all the firehouse garage doors, and the door going up near the scissor lift knocked over the lift, Wilson said.
