Krispy Kreme is offering an extra sweet consolation prize for those looking to lick their lotto-losing wounds.
Anticipation for Friday night’s Mega Millions drawing ramped up after no winner was announced for Tuesday’s drawing. Mega Millions announced the estimated jackpot had climbed north of a billion dollars, making it one of the largest ever in the U.S.
Coming in at $1.35 billion as of Friday afternoon, the jackpot is the fourth largest in Mega Millions history. Meanwhile, the Powerball jackpot is at $124 million for Saturday night’s drawing.
Of course, as for most lottery games, only one can win. With all the fanfare surrounding massive prizes, ticket sales have increased, meaning the number of losers will as well.
This is where Krispy Kreme swoops in to save the day.
Between Friday, Aug. 4, and Saturday, Aug. 5, customers can bring in a losing ticket from any other lottery to a Krispy Kreme store near them for a free original glazed donut. The offer is limited to one freebie per customer while supplies last.
The Mega Millions drawing is set to take place Friday at 11 p.m. ET. If there is no winner, the next drawing will occur Tuesday. Besides local broadcast networks, the drawing can be watched on YouTube.
For those who aren’t so lucky to win the cool billion, a sweet sugary treat will at least help wash out that bitter taste of defeat.
