The defamation lawsuit between Fox News and Dominion Voting Systems came to a conclusion Tuesday, just before opening arguments were set to begin in Delaware Superior Court.
But the fallout of the misinformation spread by Fox personalities and its guests is far from over.
Just before opening arguments were set to begin Tuesday, Fox and Dominion settled, with the network paying $787.5 million – almost half of the $1.6 billion Dominion was originally seeking.

“Money is accountability and we got that today from Fox,” said Dominion lawyer Stephen Shackelford after news of the settlement.
There are still a number of lawsuits pending against Fox, following the network airing lies about its role in the 2020 presidential election and shaking the nation’s confidence in its electoral process.
Here’s a breakdown of what is still pending against Fox:
Abby Grossberg, the former Fox News producer, filed lawsuits in the Southern District of New York and the Superior Court of Delaware against her former employer. Grossberg claims that Fox lawyers bullied her during her deposition to give false testimony for the Dominion lawsuit.
The producer, who worked on “Sunday Morning Futures with Maria Bartiromo” and “Tucker Carlson Tonight” also described “a toxic workplace where truth remains a fugitive.”

Smartmatic, another voting technology company, filed a $2.7 billion defamation lawsuit against Fox for similar reasons as Dominion. The company, which filed the lawsuit in 2021 in New York, claims that Fox spread lies that the company helped steal the election.
In the 2020 election, Smartmatic’s machines were only used in Los Angeles County. Dominion’s technology was used in two dozen states.
Fox, in February, lost an appeal in New York’s Supreme Court Appellate Division to throw out the case. A trial date has not been set.
Robert Schwartz, a Fox Corp. shareholder, filed a lawsuit this month in Delaware Chancery Court against Murdoch and four other board members, accusing them of failing to stop Fox News from reporting lies about the 2020 presidential election.
He claimed in the lawsuit, Reuters reported, that the directors “breached their duties to ensure that Fox followed its own ethical standards and avoided reputational risk, and instead sought to keep supporters of former U.S. President Donald Trump tuned in.”
And it’s not over for Dominion either
Dominion has also filed lawsuits against:
- One American News Network
- Newsmax
- Patrick Byrne, former head of Overstock
- Rudy Giuliani, Trump’s attorney
- Sidney Powell, former Trump lawyer
- Mike Lindell, MyPillow founder and chief executive officer
