HENRICO COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — A flight was delayed after Henrico County police and TSA officers searched for a suspicious package reported at the Richmond International Airport.
In the afternoon of Sunday, Jan. 21, Henrico County Police and TSA officers responded to a report of a suspicious package at the Richmond International Airport.
According to a spokesperson for the airport, the TSA had contacted the airport after it had flagged a checked item, causing a small section of a terminal and baggage claim area to be closed.
A flight was delayed as officers began “restraining” passengers to re-screen their items before boarding a plane. According to the spokesperson, no suspicious package was found and the flight has since departed.
The Richmond International Airport continues to investigate the incident.
