Two families have lost everything after their duplex went up in flames on Monday. Flames were already visible when fire crews got to the scene, but the two families made it out. Pittsburgh’s Action News 4 reporter Marcie Cipriani reported that he could be seen moving and giving a thumbs-up as he remained on top of the ladder truck, where an IV was raised up to him.Schuller’s girlfriend, Jade Nussbaumer, made it to the scene just in time to see Schuller be lowered from the ladder, then give two thumbs up while being carried away from the fire scene.Nussbaumer said he is doing OK, however, he has a broken right foot. After being released from the hospital, Schuller stopped by the scene to look at the aftermath of the fire. He said he’s relieved to be alive. The Allegheny County Fire Marshal is investigating the cause of the fire.As this fire ignited, Pennsylvania State Rep. Carrie DelRosso was meeting with Allegheny County fire officials nearby, before making her way to the scene.”Well the reality of it is, we have these fires more than often, because these houses are either abandoned or they’re old,” DelRosso said. “The bottom line is the jobs move out, the people move out, the houses are abandoned, and people come in, and buy them, and start upgrading them, and rent them out, and they’re not safe.
