One person died in a residential fire just west of Millville on Sunday evening, according to the Delaware State Fire Marshal’s Office.
Firefighters discovered the victim inside the building after the fire was reported shortly before 7 p.m. Millville Volunteer Fire Company responded to the fire, which involved a garage with an apartment on the second floor in the 34000 block of Omar Road.
State fire investigators are working to determine the origin and cause of the fire, according to the fire marshal’s news release. The Division of Forensic Science will conduct an autopsy. There were no other injuries reported.
Heavy fire damage was estimated at $50,000, according to the news release.
