An 18-year-old man was arrested Saturday following the fatal shooting of a 33-year-old man in the Capitol Park community near Dover Thursday.
Two days after the shooting, police arrested Marcus Bailey during a traffic stop in a Wawa parking lot and charged him with first-degree murder, first-degree robbery and several firearms charges, police said.

The shooting occurred at about 3:50 p.m. when the 33-year-old man, who has not yet been identified, was sitting in the driver’s seat of a vehicle parked on Senator Avenue. Bailey then entered the backseat of the car and demanded the man’s property, police said.
At some point during the encounter, Bailey allegedly shot the man in the upper torso before he ran away from the car, police said.

The Dover-area man was pronounced dead at the scene. Bailey was arraigned and taken to the Sussex Correctional Institution on a $1.1 million cash bond.
