A 36-year-old Bridgeville man was killed in a single-car crash in Georgetown on Monday night, according to Delaware State Police.
It happened around 10:50 p.m. The victim was operating a Mercedes-Benz GLK350, traveling south on Old Furnace Road, approaching Asbury Road. Police say he “failed to negotiate a slight curve” and the SUV went off the left side of the road, striking a ditch, multiple drainage pipes, a mailbox and a utility pole. The vehicle overturned once before coming to a rest in a yard, according to police.
The driver was pronounced dead at the scene and will be identified after his family is notified.
