In addition, the Eagles will return to Arryn Siposs as the punter. Siposs broke his foot on Dec. 11 against the Giants. The Eagles then signed Brett Kern. But Kern is also inactive for the game.
In addition to Kern and Ward, the Eagles’ other inactives are QB Ian Book, CB Josiah Scott, RB Trey Sermon, S Anthony Harris and LB Kyron Johnson.
The Eagles had also given Harris a practice-squad elevation for the third straight week, but left him off the game-day roster each time.
For the Chiefs, RB Clyde Edwards-Helaire is among the inactives.
The NFL Network reported Sunday morning that Eagles defensive coordinator Jonathan Gannon will interview for the Arizona Cardinals head coaching job after the Super Bowl.
The Cardinals had paused their coaching search last week, presumably to pursue an assistant in the Super Bowl.
