A Dunbarton home dating back to the 1800s was left uninhabitable Saturday after a two-alarm fire.According to the Dunbarton Fire Department, the fire started accidentally at about 5 p.m. on Robert Rogers Road after a resident attempted to thaw some frozen pipes.Fire officials say the fire was contained to the portion of the house where the fire originated, but the residence sustained smoke and water damage.They add the residents were out of the home when crews arrived. No one was injured, but firefighters had to battle the blaze in below freezing temperatures, which caused some slipping. The fire was brought under control around 9:30 p.m.The Dunbarton Fire Department was assisted by several nearby departments including Goffstown, Weare, Bow, Hooksett and Henniker.The Dunbarton Fire Department told News 9, frozen pipes are common this time of year. but people should leave thawing them to professionals to prevent similar accidents.
