Former United States President Donald Trump came under fire for posting a video which featured an image of the incumbent president and his rival in the upcoming presidential election Joe Biden hogtied in the back of a pickup truck.
About the video
The video was posted on the former president’s social media site Truth Social. Trump indicated that the video was taken on Friday (Mar 28), a day after he attended the funeral of New York Police Department (NYPD) officer Jonathan Diller who was fatally shot during a traffic stop.
The 20-second clip shows pro-Trump and pro-police “blue line” flags along with an image on the truck’s rear which shows Biden lying on his side with his hands and feet tied together.
Shocking, even for the depraved monster that he is. Trump has posted a video on Truth Social that depicts an image of President Biden tied up and bound in the back of a pickup truck. pic.twitter.com/l7wPWbTv3j

Video garners criticism
When asked to comment on the video, the US Secret Service said that it “does not confirm or comment on matters of protective intelligence.”
“This image from Donald Trump is the type of crap you post when you’re calling for a ‘bloodbath’ or when you tell the proud boys to ‘stand back and stand by,’” said Michael Tyler, the Biden campaign’s communications director, told CNN.
He added, “Trump is regularly inciting political violence and it’s time people take him seriously – just ask the Capitol police officers who were attacked protecting our democracy on January 6.”
Tyler’s statement referred to the former president’s violent and often inflammatory rhetoric. Earlier this month, Trump during a rally in the state of Ohio warned that there would be a “bloodbath” for the American auto industry and the country if he is not re-elected in the upcoming elections.
The Biden campaign’s communications director also referred to the January 6, 2021 attack on the US Capitol by Trump’s supporters who wanted to stop lawmakers from certifying the incumbent president’s 2020 presidential election win.
Trump’s campaign defends post
“That picture was on the back of a pickup truck that was traveling down the highway. Democrats and crazed lunatics have not only called for despicable violence against President Trump and his family, they are actually weaponizing the justice system against him,” said former president’s campaign spokesman Steven Cheung.
The presumptive Republican presidential nominee is currently facing four criminal cases and is in the midst of running for the White House against the incumbent Democrat.
