RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) – Dominion Energy’s new offshore wind project has agreed to help protect customers by limiting the project’s budget.
“For the first time Dominion has significant skin in the game to ensure that the project is delivered on budget,” General Attorney Jason Miyares said. “Should the project run materially over budget, it will come out of Dominion’s pocket, not consumers’.”
The provision limits the project’s cost in three significant ways. For example, if the project goes over budget, the financial burden will be placed on Dominion rather than its customers.
