A delivery driver in Massachusetts has bite marks and a stab wound after he stepped in to stop a robbery suspect Monday afternoon in Malden, according to police.Malden police said the delivery driver was dropping off groceries for Instacart when he heard a woman screaming shortly before 2 p.m. and then saw a man who had stolen her purse.The good Samaritan, 21-year-old Ryan Dos Santos, then jumped on the suspect and held him down until officers arrived at the scene on Chestnut Street.”I saw the opportunity, tackled him and went on the ground,” Dos Santos said. “You don’t even think when these things happen. I don’t know, instinct.”While he was holding the suspect down, police said Dos Santos was bitten on his arm and stabbed in the leg.”He was able to stab me in my leg, my quad. Bit me three times on my left arm,” Dos Santos said. “My leg is kind of numb. The bite marks sting a bit.”Dos Santos was transported to an area hospital to be treated for his serious injuries. After receiving stitches for the stab wound on his leg, Dos Santos is expected to recover.”I don’t think it’s that big of a deal,” he said. “I did what every good citizen should do. I don’t know if they would, but should.”Police also said the woman who was robbed is OK.The suspect, identified as 26-year-old Jayson Seay, is facing charges of assault with intent to murder and armed robbery. Seay is scheduled to be arraigned on Tuesday.
