“Be on the lookout for the cops” takes on a new meaning as Delaware State Police start using throwback designs on several of its Chevrolet Tahoes to celebrate 100 years of service.
“While these vehicles may harken back to decades of the past, make no mistake that they are equipped with all of the modern-day equipment that troopers need to effectively uphold the laws of the First State and ensure the safety and well-being of all residents and visitors,” said Trooper Raushan Rich, a police spokesperson.
A total of eight marked vehicles, varying in design, will patrol Delaware highways, neighborhoods and business districts this year − the agency’s centennial anniversary.

Six of the retro graphic designs depicted on these 2023 Chevrolet Tahoes are in the likeness of State Police vehicles from the 1930s to the 1980s. The Division has also deployed several Tahoes that will display the division’s centennial graphics.
The designs are part of the 100-year commemoration of the agency, which began with the General Assembly passing two laws on April 23, 1923.
