Raw Video: Police investigate ‘serious’ crash on I-95
EDITOR’S NOTE: This story has been updated to include the identity of the victim.An 85-year-old Millsboro man was killed in a car crash on Wednesday afternoon near Long Neck.
According to Delaware State Police, Robert Gentile was operating a Ford F-150 at about 4:50 p.m. and stopped at a stop sign on westbound Beaver Dam Road, at the intersection with Indian Mission Road. For unknown reasons, he proceeded into the intersection and into the path of a northbound Ford F-350, police said.
The front of the F-350 struck the driver’s side of the F-150, which spun out and came to rest on the road, according to police. The F-350 traveled off the road into a wooded area.
Gentile was transported to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The driver of the F-350, a 35-year-old Lincoln man, sustained minor injuries but refused medical treatment. His passenger, an 83-year-old Millsboro woman, was transported to a hospital and admitted for serious but non-life threatening injuries, according to police.
The road was closed for about three hours while the incident was being investigated and cleared.
