Delaware volleyball will try to continue a winning weekend after beating Loyola of Maryland 3-1 to open its season Friday as host of the Blue Hen Invitational.
Delaware’s Lani Mason, reigning CAA player of the year, had a game-high 14 kills for the Hens.
Loyola’s 26-24 win of the second set of the match prevented a Blue Hen sweep in the first pairing of the four-team tournament. Delaware takes on Niagara at 7 p.m. Saturday and Robert Morris at 3 p.m. Sunday as part of the tournament, with all games at the Bob Carpenter Center.
